The official MTGMerch page has reduced all Men’s items to $10 for the weekend, and that even includes the Boros Hoodie. Get them while you can, if that’s your sort of thing.

…It was triple Dragon’s Maze. Everything is just as awkward to build as you would think it is, and there’s no good removal. Managed to 4-0 and take first by just drafting anything aggressive I could and throwing away pretty much any synergy that may have been there.
I don’t recommend it.

4 Lingering Souls
2 Midnight Haunting
4 Talrand’s Invocation
4 Intangible Virtue
3 Favorable Winds
2 Augur of Bolas
3 Snapcaster Mage
3 Unsummon
2 Tragic Slip
2 Ultimate Price
1 Sever the Bloodline
3 Think Twice
2 Forbidden Alchemy
1 Azorious Charm
1 Hallowed Fountain
4 Glacial Fortress
1 Watery Grave
4 Drowned Catacomb
1 Godless Shrine
1 Isolated Chapel
2 Vault of the Archangel
2 Evolving Wilds
3 Plains
3 Island
2 Swamp
Not the best, but it’ll do for now. I’ll see if I can’t hopefully flesh out the mana base more before it starts, and I’ve been working on the sideboard this morning. Currently, it stands at
2 Purify the Grave
1 Beckon Apparition
2 Duress
2 Appetite for Brains
1 Devour Flesh
1 Blind Obedience
2 Essence Scatter
2 Negate
1 Dissipate
1 Detention Sphere
It’s pretty all over the place, but it means well. Really needs more Blind Obedience, because it pretty much solves most of the issues the deck can run into with the combat phase. It’s a pretty solid deck overall, and you get to just ignore Reckoner.

…with a janky UW control deck I threw together at 3 a.m. 2-1 Stuffy Doll, 2-1 GW Tokens, 2-0 GW Ramp, 0-2 RDW on the back of a couple shaky hands. I mulled too many times to be happy with, the deck really needed to go up a land. Overall, it wasn’t too bad for making it the day morning of.

Took second the last time I went, lets see what we can’t get out of it this week.
Wish me luck!

Decided to scrap the Reanimator idea altogether (I really hate Reanimator and felt dirty even thinking of playing it) so I decided to try and throw together an Esper Walkers list, what do you guys think? (Deck after the jump)
Have you had any troubles with Augur, Snapcaster, or Pike? 17 Instants/sorceries seems pretty low to actually find with Augur, or really benefit from Pike. 8 of those have flashback, and if you use it your Pike gets even weaker. And it seems like a lot of the spells are more expensive, making Snapcaster a very late play.

I kinda want to build a token deck and prove him wrong.
Don’t believe everything you hear. I play Esper tokens, and it plays well. The only removal that hurts tokens more than any other creature is Detention Sphere, and you just have to not play into it. Any 1-for-1 removal is actually much worse, because the token producers you want to play(Lingering Souls, Midnight Haunting, Talrand’s Invocation) leave you with two bodies.

profblahson replied to your post: Had a conflict arise last night. Unbreathing horde…
In fact, with Mikaeus, the Unhallowed out, the Horde would never have actually died from losing all of its +1/+1 counters BECAUSE of Mikaeus’ ability giving it +1/+1. So, with that combo out, you effectively have an indestructible 1/1 Zombie. It can still die as a 1/1 though. When it comes back as a 1/1 with a +1/+1 counter and dies, well, Undying won’t trigger.
Not from damage. It’s still prevented, and then tries to remove the +1/+1 counter, even if there isn’t one there.

So as it’s the first friday of the month today is alternative format night at my local FNM. We’re doing pauper, which at first I though would be great because who doesn’t have a have a shed load of common cards? What i didn’t realise is that you can use any common card ever (bar the ban list) and…
Liliana’s Spectre is a pretty decent card for Black in Pauper, and it flies. Good luck!
